FAQ

About Explorer 300 v2
  • What devices can the Explorer 300 v2 power?

The Explorer 300 v2 provides up to 300W of AC output with a pure sine wave at 120V, 60Hz. It is well suited for powering small electronics such as laptops, tablets, drones, cameras, portable fans, and lights.

Expert Tip: Avoid using high-wattage heating appliances such as coffee makers or hair dryers, as they typically exceed the 300W output limit. Always check your device’s rated power before connecting it.

  • Can I use this as a backup power source for my computer?

Yes! One of the standout upgrades in the v2 is the Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) feature. When the unit is connected to a wall outlet and your device is plugged into the AC port, it enters "bypass mode". If the grid goes down, the power switches to the internal battery in just 20ms, keeping your router or PC from rebooting.

  • Why did my Jackery turn off while I was still charging my device?

This is likely due to the Energy Saving Mode.
If enabled (switch to the right): The unit will automatically shut down all outputs after 6 hours if the power consumption remains below 25W for AC or 2W for USB/DC ports.
To disable: Slide the switch to the left if you need to power low-wattage devices (like a single LED light or a small fan) for long periods without interruption.

  • How fast can I recharge the Explorer 300 v2?

The Explorer 300 v2 is designed for rapid recovery so you can get back to your adventure faster. Here are the typical recharge times to reach 100% capacity:
AC Wall Charging: Approximately 76 minutes using a standard wall outlet.
Car Charging (12V): Approximately 242 minutes (about 4 hours) via your vehicle’s DC car port.
Solar Charging: Approximately 9.5 hours when using a SolarSaga 40W solar panel under ideal full-sun conditions.
Expert Tip: For the fastest "green" recharge, you can use higher-wattage Jackery SolarSaga panels (up to 100W) to significantly reduce that solar charging time.

  • Is the car charging cable included in the box?

The standard package includes the Jackery Explorer 300 V2 unit, an AC Charging Cable, and the User Manual. Please note that the car charging cable is not included but is available for purchase separately if you plan to charge while on the road.

  • Can I use the Explorer 300 v2 in the rain or at the beach?

While built for the outdoors, this device is not waterproof or dustproof. It is intended for indoor use or "indoor-like" environments such as tents, RVs, or cabins. Always keep the unit in a cool, dry place and ensure the vents are uncovered to prevent overheating.

Customers praised this portable power station for being "light weight and rather compact" with quick charging. Many noted it "powers fans, lights, and computer equipment" effectively. However, some reported concerns about durability, with units failing after warranty periods, standby power consumption issues, and challenges with customer service responses.

I'm very happy with the 300W Explorer V2 power station

I'm very happy with the convenience of having power to run my starlink mini were ever I go in the mountains to enable cell and internet service when I need it. It's light weight and rather compact. Charging is quick. I can plug it into my receptacle port in my truck when on the move to charge. Charging via Jackery solar panels is also easy with ample sunlight. It gives me an extra layer of security in remote places here in Idaho. I would highly suggest researching or chatting with a Jackery agent on any additional cable accessories you might need for all your devices and solar panel before using it in the field. Also research tips on how to reduce power consumption when using your devices with the power station to ensure you are not wasting the charge.

Don't be tricked into buying a refurbished product

Don't be tricked into buying a refurbished product. They do not make it obvious that you are buying refurbished and have a short warranty. Then fail shortly after the warranty is up. I'm going to try Bluetti because they are more highly rated by most technology websites.

Terrible customer service

I ordered a Jackery 300 Explorer 300 v2. I wanted it to go to my daughter in Colorado but because I also have a Shopify site, it defaulted the shipping to my house in Pennsylvania. I immediately, called Jackery customer service and spoke to Kevin. Kevin assured me that he would change the shipping address to Colorado. He did not!! The next day, I received an email saying that the Jackery 300 was being sent to my house. I immediately sent email to Kevin and he replied that he was recalling the package and reissuing it to my daughter in Colorado and said that he would get a tracking number for the replacement package. I waited a few days but Kevin did not sent me the tracking number. Since my daughter needed the Jackery for a camping trip in a few days, I was left with no choice but to over night (at a cost of $180) the Jackery that was shipped to my house so that it would be in Colorado on time. But I didnt know that UPS wont ship a Jackery on a plane (i didnt know this). So, to this day (June 13) my jackery is stuck in Kentucky and I'm filling out forms to try to get is ground shipped back to Pennsylvania. This is becoming a nightmare. I emailed Kevin, and he admitted that he did not get the shipping address changed and he also admitted that he never sent the tracking number (even after several request by me to get the tracking number) but offered no additional information or any tracking number. I assume it was never shipped. In the end, I had to order a Westinghouse battery back up on Amazon because that was the only one that would ship to Colorado overnight. I did arrive and she is successfully using the Westinghouse. I personally use Jackery products and love them. But the Jackery customer service has cost me several hundreds of dollars (shipping and replacement Westinghouse) over the initial cost of the Jackery 300.

Won't Take a Charge Anymore

Worked great for a few camping trips. Not even 3 years old and the unit will not take a charge. None of the troubleshooting steps provided resolution. This is a garbage product that doesn't last. Do not purchase.

Degrades when no device using power

The problem is the unit consumes about 4% / hour of power without any load used by the device you have plugged in. There is no way to program the days/hours you want the unit to be in use. I have a 2 watt device that is in use about 2 hours a day. Yet the device power capacity is reduced to 0 with in 24 hours even with charging with the solar panel during the day.

Been using it for two days in a row I love it. I have the old original Jack Rex floor 300 that came out seven years ago and I loved it so much but it’s finally taking a toll no longer holds the charge. I don’t even wanna throw it away, so I’ll probably keep it as a ornament but the new Jackery 300 version two awesome I was hoping they would make one again and they have very happy might get one for my son

I have the 300W portable generator with the solar panels and I baught it to run my c-pap machine because the write-up said it would but the booklet that came with is said it wouldn't. Will it?

Jackery

Dear Chris,

Thank you for reaching out and for choosing Jackery.

To better assess whether the Explorer 300 v2 can properly support your CPAP machine, could you please provide the operating specifications of your device? In particular, we would need details such as the rated power (watts), voltage requirements, and whether it uses AC or DC input, as well as any information on peak or startup power if available.

Additionally, you mentioned that the booklet indicates it may not be compatible. To help us verify this accurately, could you please share a clear photo of the page or section of the booklet you are referring to?

Once we have these details, we will be able to give you a clear and accurate recommendation regarding compatibility.

Looking forward to your reply.

Best regards,

compatible with Caire Freestyle

Jackery

Hi Dave,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Unfortunately, we are unable to determine the compatibility of the Explorer 300 v2 with third-party devices such as the Caire Freestyle, as we do not have access to the operating specifications and power requirements of non-Jackery products.
We recommend checking the power requirements of the Caire Freestyle and consulting the device manufacturer to confirm compatibility with an external power source.

I want to power lights and fan in an art tent. I want something light, but need the lights on for several hours in the day. (6-8 hrs) which will be best. I would like to charge my phone on it too.

Jackery

Hi Anne,
Thank you for contacting Jackery. My name is Julio, and I’ll be glad to assist you.
The ideal setup depends on the power requirements of your devices and how long you plan to use them.
I see that you purchased the Explorer 100 V2—that’s a great choice, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy it
To estimate the runtime, could you please share the voltage and power (W) of each device you plan to use?
Once I have that information, I’ll be happy to provide a more accurate estimate.
