First off, I don’t like to review products until I have used them for several months, yet the manufacturers push for these early reviews. Give me an opportunity once I have truly used the product extensively. Just a couple of quick observations. One, the solar panel is unwieldy, a PITA to unfold by oneself. It also seems very sensitive to anything blocking direct sunlight, I initially put it out on a day that had moving clouds and the input readings were almost hypomanic, going from 0 to 200 and in between in milliseconds. This concerned me in regards to the operations of the panel, as I have solar on my roof as well and my reading on my inverter were nowhere as wild as this. I then unfurled them again in direct sunlight and they were consistent, yet if I moved my arm into a shadow on the panels, they dropped considerably. I can only see the effectiveness of the panels being a charging agent as having direct sunlight without obstruction which is difficult to do camping in the PNW which has many trees. The panels do fold up into a smaller package that makes them easier to transport if needed, about the same size as a 50 watt panel I use to charge a lead acid battery I have in my teardrop trailer.
I bought the generator to use camping to charge phones, a battery powered electric chainsaw, and as backup to power outages to run my wood stove insert’s fan if needed, along with WIFI. I took it camping and it worked well, it charged our phones, my chainsaw battery and other sensitive medical equipment. It had 90% left after three days of camping. So far so good. There was one other camper near us who had several Jackery products, which speaks to the reputation of the products. I rated it four stars vs five based on the solar panel, vs the generator, and I am glad I bought the item on sale.
Finally getting to use the jacket this weekend for our first trip this year. Boondocking and so far it has powered everything we’ve needed it for. Including running a portable refrigerator the whole trip. Would definitely recommend!
Convenient and just what we needed.
Love it so much for my vanlife.
